We arrived promptly at the airport in Montego Bay and had a smooth transition through customs. Our first Jamaica leaders we met at the airport were Devain Parchment and Donnijo Parchment. We had a three-hour drive to Southfield. We had dinner and met with Jamaican Care Leaders. The seven Jamaica Care Leaders that we met were as follows: Sis. Carol Stephenson, Sis. Jackie Parchment, Bro. Shepherd Bent, Bro. Kingsley Palmer, Bro. Devain Parchment, Sis. Donnijo Parchment, and Bro. Hambert Hamilton.
The Jamaican leaders provided us with welcome gifts that included a journal, map, bookmark, and much more. We also provided the Care Team Leaders with gifts as well. We are truly looking forward to this trip and all that God will be doing this week.
This Short-Term Missionary Trip from First Baptist Church of Atlanta will be journeying to Southfield, Jamaica from May 30 - June 7, 2009. The team consists of eight members who will be providing dental services, youth activities, sign language, parenting classes, and tutorials to Bethel Gospel Chapel and local schools.

Pray for the performance of the “Now, Behold the Lamb” song in American Sign Language (ASL). Pray that this performance touch the lives of the people at Bethel Gospel Church to know God more.
Monday, June 1
Pray for the Dental Clinic services while at Bethel Gospel Chapel. Pray for timeliness of the dental bus and the smooth flow of patients into and out of the clinic. Pray for our youth play and icebreaker services. Pray also that many will come to know Jesus Christ while at the Chapel.
Tuesday, June 2
Pray for our performance of the “Now, Behold the Lamb” song in ASL while at Maranatha School for the Deaf. Pray also for our ministry at Ballards Valley Primary School. Pray that through our services the children in the schools will come to know God better. Pray that our Puppet Ministry helps to excel Bethel’s Puppet Ministry to new levels in God.

Pray for our Youth Ministry services while at Top Hill Primary School and Mayfield All Age School. Pray for the girls and boys at Bethel and that their hearts are open to understand God’s word.
Thursday, June 4
Pray for our Youth Ministry services while at St. Mary’s All Age School and Munro Prep School. Pray for our youth activities and praise and worship services. Pray also for our parenting classes and that the parents will learn how to raise their children according to God’s Word.
Friday, June 5
Pray for our Youth Ministry services while at Sea View All Age School. Pray also for our Movie Night with the youth at Bethel. At this meeting, we pray that we will bring encouragement and hope for their Youth Ministry.
Saturday, June 6
Pray for our tutorial services - that we teach English in a way that the Jamaicans can understand and bring further clarity to the English language. Pray for our safe travel to Montego Bay.
